Our first conversation with Daniel Daou of Daou Family Estates was one of our most listened-to episodes. In that episode we touched on a newer and higher-end brand, than even Daou if you can imagine, he coined, Patrimony.
He desired a separate identity for Patrimony, its own label, colors, even winery and production space.
This brand will carve out a space as a luxury brand that Paso hasn’t’ really seen yet. Were not talking about $100 or $200 bucks a bottle. We’re talking about making maybe 4-5 wines, with the entry-level being about $300-$400 bottle. The highest level of this expression, the Black Label, would be $1000 a bottle.
We talk to Daniel Daou, as well as his Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing for Patrimony, Chris Avery. Chris, an Opus One alum, tells us how he made the transition from Napa to Paso, took his core team with him, and is building a super squad to join the Patrimony family to more than put Patrimony on the map, but make it the capitol when it comes to recognized world-renown Cabernet from California.
Original music, “Good Company”, performed by Moonshiner Collective.
