Responsibilities and Requirements:
• Provide a positive first impression to guests as they arrive
• Review reservation details and seat guests accordingly
• Assess walk-in availability and select appropriate seating arrangements
• Provide register support as needed

• Check bathrooms for cleanliness and ensure they are fully stocked

Qualifications
• 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in a customer service or hospitality setting
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• General wine knowledge
• Food Handler Manager’s certificate preferred
• AMS (POS) experience desired but not required

• Capable of repeatedly lifting 45 lbs

This role is highly dynamic and needs an enthusiastic individual who can lead guests through private tours of our estate vineyard and seated tastings at the tasting room. This position is part-time for Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and some week days.

GENERAL
• Part-time position for 28 to 32 hours a week, non-exempt status

RESPONSIBILITIES

A Day In The Life at JUSTIN:

Your Contribution to JUSTIN:

The Tasting Room Host is responsible for upholding and enhancing the elevated J. Lohr brand image and storytelling associated with Family, Place, and Craft. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. SAFETY: Maintains a high level of safety awareness by attending safety meetings and training. Responsible for adherence to all health and safety procedures.

2. WARM WELCOME: Greets all guests timely in a welcoming and friendly manner. Understands how to execute based on experience type and whether guests are club members, general public or have a reservation for a seated tasting.

3. J. LOHR PASO ROBLES WINE CENTER SUPPORT: Supports the Wine Center by ensuring that guests are treated with exceptional customer service. Takes pride in ‘stage’ cleanliness and contributes to ensure the facility is clean and orderly. Regularly hosts guests for indoor or outdoor tasting experiences. Washes and polishes glassware as directed.

4. VIP, DISTRIBUTOR, MEDIA, MEMBER AND CONSUMER VISITS
Supports VIP visits and elevated tasting experiences as directed by the Hospitality Manager.
Prioritizes “relationship building” over sales to ensure qualified guests are invited back to the second engagement and beyond.

4. LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE: Ensures that visitors are served wine according to State of California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) regulations – specifically regarding underage and intoxicated persons.

5. EVENTS: Available to work events as directed by the Hospitality Manager. This may include greeting guests and supporting experiences through exceptional hospitality. Available to work weekends, three-day holiday weekends, and some evenings.

6. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Represents J. Lohr to the public in all J. Lohr Paso Robles Wine Center interactions. Provides assistance with tastings and purchases. Resolves customer concerns and complaints leveraging the Hospitality Services Standards Guide that includes How to Flex points as well as Service Recovery processes. Escalates concerns to the Hospitality Manager or Hospitality Lead.

7. MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT: Promotes J. Lohr Wine Clubs and is knowledgeable about membership structures, exclusive benefits, scheduled club releases, and member events. Answers inquiries about the Membership Program.

8. TEAMWORK: Adheres to, communicates, and supports company policies and decisions in a positive manner. Cooperates with personnel in other departments to ensure the best overall results for J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines.

POSITION PURPOSE

Position Summary
The Tasting Room Manager provides proactive leadership in all aspects of tasting room operations and works to develop a team that passionately promotes the brand. They will work to create a memorable guest experience for every customer by successfully overseeing and implementing all aspects of tasting room operations: sales, customer service, training and development, reservation management, winery experiences, inventory accuracy, staff scheduling, cash reconciliation, and local outreach.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Create a tasting room team-based culture where each person is committed to the very best in their fellow employees
• Ability to plan, execute, and achieve retail sales goals, wine club acquisition and name capture
• Hands-on management of tasting room staff including training, scheduling, and staff development
• Plan, prepare, and execute monthly tasting room meetings with team

• Establish and enforce tasting room policies and procedures and ensure all tasting room operations are completed efficiently
• Promote and effectively sell wine and wine club memberships by educating guests about the brand and what makes us unique

A Day In The Life at JUSTIN:

A Day in the Life at JUSTIN:

The position is for an experienced, hard-working, and detail-oriented Cellar Hand with laboratory experience to join our small production team at our Tin City Winery and has the potential for future advancement within the team. At ONX winery, we specialize in blends off our west-side estate located in the Templeton Gap AVA, as well as provide custom crush services for a handful of local premium brands. This allows us to work with 20+ varietals and a variety of winemaking practices. You will be joining our three-person production team in processing small, premium lots over the course of the vintage and be exposed to all facets of the winemaking process. This will include (but not be limited to):

• Crush-pad and sorting-line operations
• Fermentation management (i.e. pump-overs and punch-downs)
• Barrel work (topping, filling, racking, cleaning, etc)
• Sanitation (Make it sparkle)
• Sampling (in cellar and vineyards)

• Participation in on-site benchmark tastings, lot evaluations, and blending trials.
