Opolo wines is looking for a grape sampler to assist in monitoring maturity in our Paso Robles vineyards this harvest. We are looking for a motivated team member who is eager to expand on their knowledge and experience related to grape growing and maturity scouting in a positive fun working environment.

Duties to include but not limited to:
• Assess maturity and vine development and record field observations
• Collect maturity samples
• Manage personal sampling schedule and coordinate daily route to ensure timely results
• Assist lab in processing juice samples for analysis and tasting
• Work closely with Winemaking team
• Assist with compiling and filing seasonal viticulture notes, maintaining vineyard data reports

REQUIREMENTS:
• Hard working, ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to clearly and accurately document information
• Ability to work long hours, possible weekends during peak periods
• Exposure to outside elements and physical work (lifting, bending, climbing, squatting)
• Valid CA driver’s license and clean DMV report required

Prior harvest experience is desired but not essential. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, detail driven individuals who possess an aptitude to work independently as well as part of a team. Candidates should have good communication skills, be reliable, punctual, prepared to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, day shift, night shift, and holidays. Temporary Full Time or Temporary Part Time- Seasonal

All candidates will need to be fit and capable of working long hours, lift weights up to 50lbs, and endure extended periods of time walking, standing, and climbing ladders. • Successfully operating cash register and accurately entering orders with Orderport software.

• Help out when necessary with Club Emails, Tasting Room Bottle Inventory, database management, and social media postings.

• Knowledge of wines, wine production, Ship Compliance, and Paso Robles AVA helpful.

• Able to adhere to ABC Standards including checking IDs for underage customers. Must successfully pass ABC test or proof of passing before beginning work.

Hours are typically 10:00 am - 6 pm.

Two paid :15 minute breaks and :30 lunches are given. Employees not taking breaks or lunches must have the overtime approved with supervisor.

Event coverage and weekends are required of all Tasting Room staff. Ability to be on-call for emergencies is appreciated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist Owner/Operator with implementation of direct-to-consumer relationships for retention and business development by:
• Availability to work Wednesday through Sunday (winery is open by appointment only).

• Host guests when they arrive with a stellar tasting experience.

• Obtain and enter new wine club member applications.
• Prepare wine club shipments and reconcile customer invoices.
• Mange all daily and club shipping orders, including, but not limited to: redirects, returns, and weather-holds.
• Work with the small team on availability to assist in the cellar, when time allows, with projects such as, but not limited to, bottling, labeling, capsuling, packaging, and shipping of wine.
• Support sales and marketing events on premise.

Qualifications:

This is a part-time position, scheduled on Saturdays, with Fridays and Sundays scheduled as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
• Stock wine consistently during shift
• Remove plates, silverware, glasses when patrons are finished
• Wash glassware and/or other basic service items, place into dishwasher, and polish for future use
• Maintain service stations in a clean and orderly fashion throughout shift
• Keep floors free and clear of broken glass, water, and other debris during service
• Assist in preparing, cleaning, set up and breakdown of outside patio areas: umbrellas, chairs, tables
• Assist in routine cleaning of the bar and patio area based on scheduled service and ensure these areas are presentable for guests
• Assist guests in getting wine to their cars
• Additional duties as assigned by Tasting Room Manager

• Managing community relations projects including organizing blood drives, adopt-a-street cleanups, scholarship program, Community Wine Awards, and more

• Assisting the marketing manager with marketing, social media, and events by sourcing imagery, proofreading, updating content, maintaining databases, updating website, and more

This position plays a vital role in training new employees and meeting tasting room sales goals. It supports the JUSTIN Estate when needed, working hand in hand with other Tasting Room leadership. The individual in this role requires excellent customer service and sales skills and a passion for wine.

A Day In The Life at JUSTIN:

-Provides direction and leadership to tasting room employees by effectively communicating and enforcing company policies and procedures, department operations, and partnering with other departments to develop and promote the Landmark / JUSTIN brand image and products
-Maintain flow of operations in all areas
-Manages Tasting Room Staff; responsible for employee timecards, annual reviews, employee counseling, hiring, performance management and employee safety
-Provides direction to staff and delegates responsibility as needed
-Responsible for Tasting Room staff scheduling at each area
-Oversees Tasting Room team incentives to meet plan and help maximize team effectiveness.
-Monitors progress of goals for all properties
-Manages the floor in the tasting room with a focus on creating memorable or new experiences to wow guests
-Creates Tasting Room Standard Operating Procedures
-Leads the winery outreach program and schedules Tasting Room Staff accordingly for outreach winery support
-Communicates and provides reports to senior leadership
-Works with Inventory Manager and Operations Manager to determine Tasting Menus. Creates and updates menus based on inventory and wine movement
-Resolve guest concerns/complaints using good judgment and tact.
-Facilitate and promote good communication between all departments (Hospitality, Marketing, Wine Society, Accounting, Production, Housekeeping, etc.).
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Your Contribution to JUSTIN:
-Bachelors or equivalent experience and two (2) years hospitality sales and management experience

The Cellar Supervisor acts as team leader while supervising and/or performing various work assignments in the cellar including bottling, racking, transferring, filtering, crushing, pressing, and other production-related activities. You will be responsible for the maintenance of forklifts, filters, pumps, presses, hoses, and other cellar equipment. We are looking for someone who is experienced in all aspects of wine processes from grape to bottle and can direct less experienced crew members. The successful candidate is a self-starter who is hard-working, detail-oriented, and a team player with strong organizational skills.

A Day in the Life at JUSTIN:

-Assist in managing daily supervision of the cellar staff to ensure a safe, efficient and productive work environment
-Adhere to and instruct cellar staff to follow established company food safety and good manufacturing practices
-Supervise, train, and develop production staff to company winemaking standards
-Ensure all production equipment is properly maintained and operating to safety standards
-Oversee sanitation of cellar area, equipment, and tanks

-Provide progress reports on status of cellar activities

The position begins in August and ends sometime in November. We are a small team, which means everyone does everything. Work will be a mix of vineyard and cellar work. We will start by getting to know the vineyards, then things will transition into cellar preparation, and winemaking, and cleaning, and more cleaning when the picking begins. You will be asked to drive a forklift, sample fruit, do basic lab analysis, sort, clean, and provide excellent hands-on fermentation management among other things.

We want someone to join us who is passionate about wine, while maintaining a positive attitude throughout the harvest!

We are a family owned, boutique style winery located on the West Side of Paso Robles. We are looking for an energetic and efficient Host(ess)/Busser to join our team on the weekend. The ideal candidate is welcoming, friendly and professional.

Responsibilities Include:
- Greeting our guests and showing them to their tasting table.
- Clear and sanitize tables after each tasting
- Wash and polish glassware throughout the day
- Answer phone calls and make reservations
- Answer guest inquiries
- Assist with checkout process
- Restocking inventory, supplies, etc.
- General housekeeping

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Stand for long periods of time
- Team player
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to lift 40lbs or more frequently

This is a part-time position for Saturday and Sunday. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Job Summary
The Accounting Assistant provides support to the Controller by performing daily clerical tasks, including processing and recording of transactions, fielding communication with clients, customers and vendors, filing, and other duties as needed.

Working Hours
Part-time – Flexible / May work into Full-time position for right person

Essential Duties
• Key data into the company accounting system • Print and process invoices from the accounting email address • Enter and code financial transactions appropriately • Process accounts payable invoices and payments • Process accounts receivable invoices and payments • Process and reconcile credit card transactions and statements • Build Wine Items in accounting system. Work with Production Manager on gathering all costs • Check all financial transactions for accuracy • Vendor set up and W-9 verification • Monitoring vendor statements • Process invoice adjustments • Filing of paid invoices • Assist with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies • Works with Inventory and Logistics Dept. with month/year end inventories • Process monthly inventory adjustments • Reconciles inventory in accounting system • Support everyday functions and resolve questions within the department

Job Requirements/Qualifications
Education- A.A. degree or equivalent work experience
Experience - 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
Licenses/Certifications - Valid California Class C driver’s license.
Language Skills - Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Computer Skills -Working knowledge Word, Excel, QuickBooks
Knowledge - Familiarity with the Wine Industry
Equipment -Typical office equipment
Other Qualifications- Pleasant and friendly phone demeanor

Work Environment
• Most time will be spent in the office with occasional visits to the storage area or tasting rooms
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
