Job Summary:
Work as a team member to support tasting room operations in a manner that maximizes the sales potential of the winery, ensures a rich consumer experience, builds consumer loyalty and reflects the brand essence. Principal functions include sales, customer service, product knowledge, cash register operations and product presentations. Employees are required to work weekends; which may include special events and extended hours.

Job Duties:
• Prepare Tasting Room for daily openings and closings
• Deliver exceptional customer service
• Represent the company and brand, professionally, graciously and enthusiastically
• Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history; answer visitor’s questions
• Effectively suggest and sell wine to customers
• Memorize club benefits, and effectively sell the wine club to customers; in the tasting room and on the telephone
• Act as an informed resource for consumers regarding winemaking, winegrowing, wine vintages and availability of products
• Responsible to maintain a high level of relevant wine, company and industry knowledge by remaining familiar with all current press information, memos and marketing information and other wine related publications
• Attend regularly scheduled monthly staff meetings and trainings
• Operate cash registers/POS system and credit card terminals accurately and efficiently including opening and closing procedures
• Being able to assist with serving Café items and bussing tables as needed to maintain a clean and professional environment
• Create/update Tasting Room documents (ex. tasting sheets/signs for wine specials)
• Assist with special events on-site and off-site, as needed (ex. food prep/floral arrangements/wine service)
• Washing and polishing glassware for tasting room
• Break down and recycle cardboard and glass
• Maintain cleanliness of tasting room, and all other customer related areas of the winery
• Assist with answering of the phones
• Perform periodic wine and non-wine inventories as needed
• Restock gift items as needed and alert manager of stock shortages
• Perform other duties assigned by Hospitably Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Culinary Gardener will work with the chef to create bountiful organic vegetables, flowers, herbs and fruits. The ideal candidate is an approachable and open-minded worker who understands the hard work, dedication and interaction the garden requires. The Culinary Gardener must have farm and garden experience. In addition, we desire the candidate to have experience in crop planning, greenhouse management, planting and garden maintenance, harvesting and post-harvest needs, irrigation set up and repair and composting. The knowledge of pruning, perennials, lawn and garden equipment such as tillers and food preservation are helpful.

Farm & Edible Landscaping
 Annual vegetable garden planning and implementation
 Communicate with the Keeper of the Farm and kitchen staff concerning kitchen and business needs on a daily basis
 Perform regular farm and garden tasks including harvest, planting, weeding, bed preparation, and general maintenance.
 Perform daily maintenance of seasonal vegetable crops and maintenance of orchards.
 Plant, manage and maintain the farm using organic and sustainable growing methods.
 Focus on soil building, crop rotation and integrated pest management strategies.
 Become familiar with different crop varieties and harvest standards.
 Maintain and improve garden infrastructure: arbors, fencing, drip irrigation, long rows and raised beds.
 Maintain perennial plantings.

Administration and Maintenance
 Expense control of the garden
 Monitor and report on conditions of crops, equipment, and overall appearance of garden
 Enter all crop and activities into electronic record-keeping system daily.

 Perform general upkeep of tools.
 Work with Farm Manager to crop-plan on a seasonal basis.
 Create harvest schedule on weekly basis.

Required Qualifications
 Ability to work independently, but not in a vacuum.
 Be punctual.
 Have excellent attention to detail.
 Interact and communicate well with all staff.
 At least two year of experience growing produce in a commercial garden or farm.
 Understanding of crop planning principles.
 Speak fluent English, have a driver’s license and be able to lift and carry at least 50lbs.
 Ability to operate light machinery (drill, trimmers, etc.).
 Be able to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
 Experience growing on the California Coast, in estate horticulture, culinary gardening or market gardening.
 Experience with organic and sustainable growing methods.
 Experience soil management principles.

Position Description
The House Manager is responsible for: managing and scheduling preventive maintenance and repair of properties; ensuring everything is in working order; checking in and greeting guests; providing a walk through before and after guests arrive and depart. Plans and schedules facility maintenance, including estimates on related repair costs and working with vendors. Will keep houses stocked with essentials, up to date, in working order, creating checklists and other necessary tools to assist with organization. Position requires providing professional and high standards with guest interaction at all times. There are multiple houses located on the property that need care and attention. Needs to be a team player with excellent communication skills, and requires the utmost attention to detail.

Essential Functions
• Manage contracted services for the following suppliers; house and facility cleaning, pest control and landscaping.
• Conduct and document regular facilities inspections, retaining appropriate records and follow up as needed.
• Document preventive maintenance schedule for houses on property.
• Recommend and implement best practice processes to increase efficiency throughout facilities.
• Work closely with event manager to plan and manage facility services around events and guest arrivals.
• Maintain spare part inventory control, compile and sort purchase material receipts; maintain logs and records.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed.

Other Duties
• Ensure the highest levels of service and expectations are always met.
• Provide the proper level of care and maintenance required for houses on the property.
• Execute the preventive maintenance plan for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems to keep the household mechanical systems in good operating condition.
• Collaborate with appropriate staff to plan, modify and schedule repairs for the house and the property.
• Coordinate contractors for regular maintenance (HVAC, elevator, audiovisual, pool, etc.) and self-perform basic plumbing maintenance (clogged toilets, spa cleaning, sink drain cleaning, water heater settings).
• Manage the schedule of all outside vendors for general upkeep and individual projects.
• Assist with the set-up of outdoor cooking equipment and maintain wood stock for outdoor firepits and grill.
• Maintain accurate records of house systems (track warranties, filter changes, change light bulbs)

This position is a flexible independent role to primarily care for our ranch animals: pigs, chickens, goats, guinea fowl, burros, and horses. Applicant must be an honest, hard-working self-starter with a positive attitude that enjoys working independently. Would be responsible for the care and welfare of a multitude of all animals daily. Dependable, reliable and attendance a must! Daily feedings twice a day required along with:
• Loading and unloading supplies, food, other items as needed

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Tasting Room Manager, we are searching for staff that have a background in customer service, a good eye for detail, and truly enjoy fostering a wonderful experience for every guest that visits the property. As a Tasting Room Staff member, you will be the main point of contact for our guests, so a polite, friendly, and energetic demeanor is a must.

Duties & Responsibilities

• May be responsible for tail off activity from bottling lines requiring verification of case goods produced, or filling in as needed on the line.
• Bottling and wine packaging experience is a plus
• Remain in compliance with housekeeping, standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Ability to lift 36 pounds respectively during the day.

The part-time train engineer/mechanic will be responsible for the following duties:
• Safely operates a steam locomotive by learning and adhering to proper boiler and locomotive operation procedures and practices.
• Ensures guest safety by assisting guests with boarding, riding, and disembarking the locomotive and passenger cars.
• Learns, adheres to and enforces all train rider policies and procedures.
• Completes daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspection of railroad rolling stock, tracks and related equipment, providing documentation as required.
• Performs routine maintenance and lubrication of railroad rolling stock and other amusement equipment as required.
• Meet with relevant local and state inspectors
