Spring Release: Vineyard Excursions

What better way to witness the beginning of a new vintage than getting out into the vineyard? During Spring Release Month are two limited Vineyard Excursions. Learn about sustainable farming and winemaking, firsthand. Witness the practices and taste the results. Also showcased are some Zinfandel icons. A nod to Paso’s Zin Fest of the past, winemakers who source from the iconic Dusi Vineyard come together to share their Zinfandel wines sourced from the 70+-year-old vineyard. Only 20 spots per excursion exist, so get your tickets soon before they sell out.

The Dusi Vineyard sits quietly in view from Highway 101, blink and you’ll miss it, but is one of the most iconic vineyards in Paso Robles. Its fruit is highly regarded, yet few are able to make wine from it. At this experience, you will taste wine among these legendary vines from four of Paso’s well-known brands who are the lucky few. This list includes Barton Family Wines, Tobin James Cellars, Turley Wine Cellars, and the home estate winery, J Dusi Wines.

Sustainability In Action!

Many labels boast that the wine in the bottle was made sustainably. But what does that mean? In this spring excursion, we peel the label back to actually see what sustainability means and hear from those practicing sustainable farming. This excursion takes place at J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, recognized as the 2020 Green Medal Leader recipient. There we will tour and witness elements in place like their state-of-the-art solar tracking array or their CIMIS irrigation management, along with other farming practices. Also joining in on the conversation are other winery/vineyards who also take their sustainability efforts to the next level, including Alta Colina Vineyard & Winery and Niner Wine Estates. Owners of all three brands, Steve Lohr, Bob Tillman, and Andy Niner, will all be present to discuss sustainability and share their wines.
