Camp CASS: Natural Fabric Dye Workshop & Lunch

This is YOUR call to go “touch grass”….or at least a fun mix of plants!
Join us as we play with the art of plant dyeing fabrics with the lovely Bobbi of Couleur de La vie.

Visit the vibrant dye bar and choose from petals, food scraps, and botanical treasures to arrange into beautiful patterns on a silk scarf to take home. Wear it as a necktie, small wild rag (bandana), head scarf, or hatband, your one-of-a-kind design will be uniquely yours.

While your creation steams for about an hour, relax, enjoy lunch by Chef Candice, and chat with Bobbi about the magic of natural dyeing. You’ll learn how everyday materials like avocado pits and skins can create stunning colors, plus get tips on easy-to-grow flowers that produce gorgeous dyes and which blooms you can often find at local nurseries.

Once your bundles have cooled, you’ll unwrap your finished piece and discover the science behind the magic, including how pigments can shift with pH and washing.

You’ll leave with your hand-dyed silk bandana, care instructions, a helpful resource guide, and plenty of inspiration to continue dyeing at home.
