Birding Field Trip with Harmony Cellars

Walk scenic Harmony Headlands for a coastal birding excursion hosted by the Morro Coast Audubon Society! After your trek, head to Harmony Cellars for more bird watching + a private wine and cheese tasting. This coastal excursion is in conjunction with Pasowine’s BlendFest Weekend.
*Harmony Headlands State Park is located 5 miles north of Cayucos and just minutes from Harmony Cellars.

Harmony Headlands is a place of pristine beauty and dramatic landscapes. Join leader Bob Keally and Harmony Cellars for birding along a 4-mile trail (round trip) to bird various habitats beginning in a riparian zone, through coastal sage scrub and grasslands, past vernal pools, and down to the rocky coast. We will look for sparrows, raptors, and other birds associated with coastal grassland and chaparral communities. At the shore, we will look for turnstones, oystercatchers, scoters, and loons. The trail is moderate with some hills.

Bring a hat, water, sunscreen, binoculars, and field guides (if you have them), and dress in layers to accommodate wind and changing weather. Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended. Ticks and poison oak may be encountered, so prepare accordingly. A portable restroom is available along the trail.

While sipping on the highly-regarded Harmony Cellars wines, enjoy an individual cheese tray from Paso Robles Wine Merchant.

When: Thursday, February 23 | Time: 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
