Ep 51: Winemakers With Fresh New Projects – Little Soul | Slamdance Koöperative Wines

May 26, 2022

The Side Hustle – Whether you’re trying to fill your piggy bank or your passion bank, the side hustle is more common than ever, especially in the wine business. Being a winemaker is already a tough job, so there has to be a lot of heart invested to finish a day in the cellar for the brand you work hard for, just to spend the evening making wines that ultimately is all you, both figuratively and literally.

Today we talk to two winemakers who already are winemakers at popular and well-respected brands, but have recently begun to start a brand of their own.

Do many owners like it when their winemakers have their own wine on the side? How do you negotiate and walk that line correctly as a winemaker?

We’ll talk about all this and more with both Molly Lonborg and Daniel Callan.

Molly is the winemaker for Alta Colina Vineyard & Winery and recently started her own brand, Little Soul.

Daniel by day is the winemaker for Thacher Winery and recently rolled the curtains back on his new brand and first wine, Slamdance Koöperative Wines.
