The Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance Foundation (PRWCAF) awarded $18,000 in scholarships to 12 graduating seniors from three north San Luis Obispo County high schools — Paso Robles High School, Templeton High School, and Atascadero High School. These scholarships were made possible by proceeds from the annual Paso Robles Wine Country Virtual Auction.

These scholarships help lessen financial barriers and open doors for students to achieve their academic and career paths. Over the past four years, the PRWCAF has gifted 55 scholarships totaling $118,000 to deserving students across the region.

Each student selected for a PRWCAF scholarship demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and a strong commitment to their educational goals. The Foundation’s evaluation process considers GPA, extracurricular involvement, personal essays, letters of recommendation, and unique personal circumstances.

“As a small business owner and a parent, it’s especially meaningful to help local students take the next step in their education,” said Michelle Thacher, Board Member of the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance and Owner of Thacher Winery. “These scholarships are one way the Paso wine community gives back, and it’s an investment to north county families and the future of our region.”
