Local Tip #9: Christmas on Vine
November 27, 2018
The sights and sounds of the Christmas season are alive on Saturday, December 8 from 6 – 9 PM in downtown Paso Robles. Now in its 32nd year, the annual Vine Street Victorian Showcase is as festive as it gets! The historic Vine Street shuts down between 8th and 21st street and is busting at the seams with holiday joy and merriment.
- Tip – Plan to dine and wine taste in downtown Paso before walking just two blocks over to experience this fun night!
All homes and businesses that line both sides of the storybook street are outrageously decorated to the hilt and feature special offerings. Illuminated floats and the Paso Robles Marching Band kick-off the holiday tradition where you’ll find joyful musical groups, dance performances, nativity scenes with real live animals, free cookies and treats, hot cocoa and warm apple cider, roasted chestnuts, snow sledding for kids plus so much more! Highlights of the evening include Santa and Mrs. Clause, complete with their elves, the Snow Queen and the Grinch.
- Tip – Need to write a letter to Santa Clause? Find the special writing station near 14th street – all letters will be delivered to the North Pole!
The most famous house on Vine Street is home to Ebenezer Scrooge. Large crowds gather outside his Victorian home where from his second story balcony he rants, raves and taunts the gleeful audience below – Bah Humbug! Scrooge’s spectacle is not to be missed.
- Tip – Bring your umbrella. Rain will not cancel this annual party in the streets!
Be sure to visit the Vine Street Christmas Showcase, you’ll walk away with warm memories of this unique holiday tradition. This highly anticipated event is free and open to the public.
