Springtime in Paso Robles Wine Country

March 4, 2025
Springtime is all about fresh starts and celebrating the new. And that is no different in wine country.
The Start of a New Vintage
Spring has sprung in Paso Robles Wine Country. The weather is warming, the hills are green, and the vineyards are coming to life. Across the region, you can see delicate buds breaking through the grape vines to form new leaves for the season. As growth progresses, the vines begin to flower, creating a first glimpse of this year’s crop. Grape vines are self-pollinating, so each flower has the potential to become a single berry. Early morning frost, late seasonal rain, and wind become pressure points during flowering that can affect the amount of fruit harvested come fall. Spring is a time of regrowth and renewal. It’s a reset, the beginning of the next vintage and another chance to create that perfect bottle of wine.
Welcoming New Releases
Many wineries introduce new vintages in the spring. The whites and Rosés from the 2024 harvest are now ready to be enjoyed, and the timing coincides perfectly with the welcoming of a new growing season. New wines in-bottle meet new wines developing on the vine. Paso Robles wineries celebrate their new vintages during Spring Release Month all March long. It’s a chance to experience the unique personalities, iconic places, and of course, new wines, that only Paso Robles Wine Country can deliver.
