January 5, 2021
You’re not going to want to miss SLO CAL’s Restaurant Month, January 1-31, 2021. That’s right, one of your favorite events is still happening! SLO CAL small businesses are ready to take your order so you can enjoy their culinary creations throughout January. During the month of January, participating restaurants offer special prix-fixe menus for $30-$40 per person, plus other special offers.
With all the changes in the world since last year’s Restaurant Month, we wanted to outline all the updates you can expect and give you comfort that some things will stay the same. Read on to get all your T’s crossed and I’s dotted to maximize your experience!
What’s the Same?
There’s no changing who Paso Wine is or what we’re about – big bold flavors! Aside from wearing masks and offering take-out this year, our restaurants will deliver the same great food and same great service.
Undoubtedly, there are some new protocols this year and it involves picking up the phone. With production supplies limited, it’s a smart idea to call a few hours or days ahead, so you’re not a last-minute surprise for these kitchens. Please be sure to wear your mask and don’t forget, your favorite meal tastes better with your favorite glass of Paso Robles wine! And let the eatery know if you don’t require plastic cutlery, to not only cut down on their costs but environmental costs as well.
What to Expect?
That being said, we ask that you please follow all individual pickup guidelines. If the business chooses to do drive-through pickup or outside pickup, be flexible. Consider asking if you can give your credit card number before pickup to hasten your roll inside. You’ll get your meal in take-out boxes. Whether you plan to enjoy your meal outside at picnic tables or safely at home, you’ll be enjoying the same Paso meals, just in different packaging.
Don’t forget to follow SLO CAL and Paso Wine on our social accounts to keep up with weekly restaurant highlights and giveaways all month long. Let’s show appreciation to our restaurant workers by enjoying the meals that make Paso Robles Wine Country and SLO CAL an even more enjoyable place to spend your days.

Post It – Repeat
In the spirit of supporting local, we can all try to think like an influencer this year. Post your well-plated meal for all your followers to see! Paso Wine and SLO CAL will love to see how you’re safely enjoying Restaurant Month, so tag @pasowine @slocal and the restaurant’s handle so your friends can take your lead and enjoy your favorite dishes too. And there may be rewards too. SLO CAL restaurants will love to know you have a smile behind your mask, helping support small businesses and the hard-hit hospitality industry throughout January.
Indulge in the Flavor of Wine Country
Paso Robles wineries continue to raise the bar in not only tasting experiences but also in the culinary scene. Talented chefs from around the world are planting their roots in Paso. There’s a passion for food here with an abundance of year-round produce and artisanal products.
So many wineries in Paso Robles have 5-star restaurants set amongst vineyards. See if you can experience them all! Villa San-Juilette Vineyard & Winery and Cass Winery Café are both offering three courses for $30, complete with wine pairings. Venture out to Villa San-Juliette who is serving a decadent duck lasagna with a béchamel sauce and to Cass Café where you can choose from three menu options. We are obsessed with the duck Cass-oulet! Another killer three-course menu you shouldn’t miss is from Bovino Vineyards. Take in the stunning views of the Templeton Gap AVA while you pick-up your pork tenderloin with caramelized apples and onions at Café Bovino. Cruise down the iconic Highway 46 West to grab your restaurant month specials from Barton’s Kitchen Window at Grey Wolf & Barton Family Wines. They are focusing on comfort food with classic macaroni and cheese made with ETTO pasta and two calzone options (we love the vegetarian), both served with a crisp winter salad. A favorite lunch spot in Santa Margarita is the Ancient Peaks Café. They offer eight unique sandwich and salad options, plus each come with your very own cheese and charcuterie board and a rich double fudge brownie. We recommend the Longhorn – a warm sammy on ciabatta with roast beef, swiss, red onion, and a zingy chipotle aioli.
Paso Robles resorts and hotels also have a strong dining game. The exquisite Allegretto Vineyard Resort is offering a beautiful three-course meal at their Cello Ristorante & Bar. The golden beet & green apple salad is magic. Downtown Paso’s cool new kid on the block, Oak & Copper Bistro in the Oxford Suites, has options! The three-course menu lets you choose your own feast. A recommended winning combo is steamed clams, wild mushroom farotto, and the flourless chocolate cake.
We are proud to boast that Paso Robles is home to the highly acclaimed Firestone Walker Brewing Company. You know what they say… it takes a lot of beer to make good wine. Turns out that statement is true, especially if it’s Firestone beer! The Taproom at Firestone has a really fun and creative restaurant month menu – Cerveza fish tacos and beer. Pick up this special which includes two beer-battered fish tacos AND an 805 Cerveza beer.
Downtown Paso Robles tucked away in an alley you’ll find Jeffry’s Wine Country BBQ, a favorite hang out of locals and visitors alike. They create delicious, scratch-made wine country comfort food and offer curbside pick-up, online ordering, and special family meals. For January Jeffry’s is offering their family meals at a 15% discount! Satisfy your tastebuds with Ribs & Chicken or Ribs & Brisket that come with 1 Qt of Smoked Pork Ranch Beans, 1 Qt of Simply Mac & Cheese, and 1 Qt of Pickled Onion Cabbage Slaw or other killer’ comfort food like Paella, Lasagna, Beef Stroganoff, and Baked Ziti!
