The Fableist Wine Co.

Every wine we make begins with a story. We take our name from Aesop, and each bottle is paired with one of his fables, referenced on the label by its Perry Index number and chosen to reflect something about how the wine was made or what we believe.

We started in 2012 with eight barrels of Paso Robles Cabernet. Today we're an owner-operated winery on a 120-acre estate in Templeton, making a full range of Central Coast wines: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Albariño, Rosé, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Small-scale, minimal intervention, native yeast, and a light hand with new oak.

Our tasting room sits under a massive old oak with vines and rolling hills in every direction. Stop in on your own, bring a group, or stay the night in the farmhouse next door. We believe wine should be approachable and for everyone, and we mean it.

We also open the estate for weddings and private celebrations.
