Trailblazing vintner, Alex Villicana (Villicana Winery), launched Paso Robles' first craft distillery, RE:FIND in 2011. RE:FIND Distillery is crafting artisan spirits from grape/grain to bottle at the distillery on Adelaida Road, in the heart of Paso Robles wine country. Their handcrafted spirits are fermented, distilled, & aged at the winery/distillery utilizing only natural and local ingredients. Re:Find crafts premium vodkas & gins from the free-run juice of Paso Robles grapes and memorable whiskies from SLO County artisan brewers.
Re:Find Distillery was derived the Villicana’s desire to be economically and environmentally sustainable in their winery practices by utilizing the “whole grape” that they devote so much time and energy to grow. Sustainability is not just important for the environment, but also economically sustainable for us as small farmers/vintners. Economic sustainability is what enables us to maintain meticulous farming and winemaking practices while allowing us to craft premium spirits. This practice also allows Re:Find to reclaim approximately 50-acres of premium Paso Robles wine grapes. That is a lot of water, fuel, and man-power being repurposed!
The Villicana’s vision to produce farm-to-table, handcrafted spirits has served as an incubator creating a niche industry within Paso Robles Wine Country which complements the rich tourism experience offered in Paso Robles.
