AboutAs founder and winemaker of his eponymous winery, McPrice “Mac” Myers makes expressive wine that showcases the dynamic terroir and microclimates of California’s Central Coast. His winemaking philosophy mirrors his approach to life: Dream big. Work hard. Have fun while making great things happen.
Mac made his first Paso Robles wine in 2005, establishing McPrice Myers’ Beautiful Earth series with a Terra Bella Vineyard Syrah. The region’s prime Rhône-style terroir, tight-knit wine community, and vanguard spirit resonated with Mac, and he decided to stay. He arrived as several now-iconic winemakers were also growing their brands. Locals consider this the golden age of Paso’s modern wine era, and Mac came up with the likes of Cris Cherry (Villa Creek), Eric Jensen (Booker), Justin Smith (Saxum), Scott Hawley (Torrin), and others.
These days, this tenacious, self-taught winemaker quietly crafts some of Paso Robles’ most lauded releases. He’s considered the region’s undiscovered genius, yet he’s also known for his low-key demeanor. As his wines rival those made by Domaine du Pégaü, Mac has earned the title of arm-wrestling champ of Châteauneuf-du-Pape on a Hospice du Rhône trip – all while sporting his signature style in Dickies-brand workwear.
Mac is a humble individual backed by an amazing team at the winery. Together, they’re strengthening Paso’s reputation as a world-class wine region. - Wines ProducedCabernet Sauvignon
