In 2007, brothers Georges Daou and Daniel Daou set forth across California to find an unrivaled terroir for producing Cabernet Sauvignon, a quest that led them to a place of foretold greatness: DAOU Mountain in the Adelaida District. Here, their vision is to make California “first growth” wine, fulfilling the district’s promise as the world’s next benchmark for Bordeaux varieties; Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. DAOU Mountain stands alone at an elevation of 2,200 feet, rising from the heart of the rugged coastal range west of Paso Robles. The mountain’s calcareous clay soils are comparable to St. Emilion, while its temperate climate closely mirrors St. Helena, Napa. This providential confluence of elements produces wines of elegance, immensity and length. Experience DAOU at our mountaintop estate, where you will enjoy an above-the-clouds view that one veteran wine critic called “a candidate for one of the top 10 most beautiful vineyard vistas in the world.” Here, you may create your own curated itinerary, from tasting flights to wine pairings featuring fresh, seasonal dishes prepared by our culinary team. Additional options include hosted educational wine pairings with artisanal cheeses as well as charcuterie. We also invite you to stroll our grounds and savor the panoramic ambiance of our estate vineyard and olive groves, all set amid a majestic backdrop of mountain ranges and woodland wilderness. Welcome to the sanctuary of DAOU Mountain.
