  • About
Alma Sol is rooted in the belief that exceptional wines begin in the vineyard and are shaped through restraint. Based in Paso Robles, the winery focuses on small-lot Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux varietals, crafted to reflect structure, balance, and a clear sense of place. Each wine is guided with precision, allowing the character of the fruit and the vintage to define its expression.

The estate sits on the west side of Paso Robles, where soils, elevation, and climate combine to produce wines of depth and natural structure. Cabernet Sauvignon remains at the center, supported by a thoughtful range of Bordeaux varietals selected to bring dimension, tension, and longevity. Every decision, from farming to élevage, is made to preserve the integrity of the site.

The roots of Alma Sol trace to Cuevas Vineyard, established in 1980 and planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1999. Over time, the vineyard gained recognition for the quality of its fruit, supplying respected producers in the region. Alma Sol was established in 2009 to pursue a focused vision of estate-driven wines shaped by both place and intent.

A continued investment in the vineyard, including replanting and expansion of Bordeaux varietals, has refined the expression of the site. The wines are shaped through patience and precision, with an emphasis on structure, clarity, and ageability.

John and Lisa are driven by a passion for excellence and an unwavering commitment to quality, integrity, and the art of winemaking. We
