Soil to Glass Hike Series with Michelle

Join us in the Vineyard to experience a vintage as it unfolds. During this guided hike through Alta Colina’s 31 planted acres, you’ll see the 2026 vintage in action and learn how each stage of the growing season shapes the wines in your glass.

Led by longtime team member and all-around delight, Michelle Locke, this relaxed and educational walk offers a look into the Vineyard. Explore hillside blocks, take in sweeping views, ask all your grapegrowing questions, and finish the morning with a tasting flight on the Summit Vineyard Tasting deck.

The Plan
• 9:00–10:00 AM: Guided hike through the vineyard
• Around 10:00 AM: Wine tasting on the Summit Vineyard Tasting deck
Note: During summer months, start times may shift earlier to beat the heat. Michelle will reach out ahead of time if adjustments are needed.

Spring Awakening – Budbreak & Early Growth
April 25 Walk the vineyard as the season begins and learn about budbreak, early shoot growth, and the vineyard work that sets the tone for the vintage. Bring your friendly, leashed furry friends—this hike supports Wine 4 Paws weekend.

Veraison & Canopy Management
July 11 See the vines as fruit begins its color change. We’ll talk about canopy management, water decisions, fruit development, and how these choices shape the final wine.

Harvest & Ripening Walk
September 12
Taste fruit right from the vine and learn how we decide when to pick. We’ll cover ripeness, Brix, acidity, and what signals the perfect harvest moment.
