Chris Beland is a Cen­tral Coast native, born and raised in San­ta Maria, Cal­i­for­nia. He was drawn to music from a very ear­ly age, with a spe­cial affin­i­ty to Willie Nel­son from his grand­pa putting his albums on the fam­i­ly turntable. Beland began writ­ing songs when he was fifteen.

Beland is a mul­ti-instru­men­tal­ist whose lyrics and sound are redo­lent of such artists as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Andrew Bird and Damien Jura­do. As a solo act, he accom­pa­nies his soul­ful words with the sea­soned strum of an acoustic gui­tar, wist­ful har­mon­i­ca strains and the steady beat of his kick-drum keep­ing a rhythm that is both folk-rock and old-timey Americana.
