Baby Back Ribs Ingredients
- 1 rack baby back ribs
- 2 tbsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 tbsp kosher salt
Strawberry BBQ Sauce Ingredients
- 1 clamshell (1 lb) fresh strawberries
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups molasses
- 2 cups apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1/2 cup kosher salt
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
Baby Back Ribs Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Unwrap the baby back ribs and place them on a clean surface or in a container. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- Rub the ribs generously with the onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, brown sugar, and kosher salt. Ensure the ribs are coated evenly on all sides.
- Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil, making sure they are completely sealed to retain moisture during cooking.
- Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet and bake for 3 hours. The ribs should be tender, and the meat should start to pull away from the bones.
- Remove the ribs from the foil and brush them with the prepared strawberry BBQ sauce.
- For the final step, either place the ribs on a preheated grill over high heat or under the broiler in your oven. Grill or broil the ribs until the BBQ sauce caramelizes and forms a sticky, flavorful glaze (about 5-10 minutes, depending on your method).
- Continue to brush the ribs with more BBQ sauce during this step for extra layers of flavor, if desired.
- Once the ribs are perfectly caramelized, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Cut the ribs between the bones and serve immediately. Pair with potato salad, macaroni salad, or your favorite sides!
Strawberry Sauce Instructions
- In a small pot, heat the neutral oil over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the mixture becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the fresh strawberries and cook for 7 minutes, allowing the fruit to soften.
- Add the molasses, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and kosher salt. Stir everything together and let it simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Once all ingredients are incorporated, remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
- After cooling, blend the sauce until smooth and set it aside.
