Today we meet Jim Moroney, owner of Sixmilebridge Vineyards, as well as revisit with his winemaker Anthony Yount.
Jim is regarded as a media industry leader in the transformation of newspapers from a journalism and business model that relied on print to models that are digital-first with diverse revenue streams. He retired as Chairman and CEO of The Dallas Morning News in 2018. Under his tenure, The News won Pulitzer Prizes in 2004, 2006, and 2010 and was even named ‘Publisher of the Year’, by Editor & Publisher. He fell in love with wine, and then Paso, and decided to make roots here for his brand which specializes in BDX style wines.
Anthony is back from episode 28. In addition to Sixmilebridge, he’s the winemaker for Denner Vineyards, as well as his own brand which he owns with his wife, Royal Nonesuch Farm.
Their stories of how they crossed paths and partnered up are interesting to say the least.
