Cellar:
• Assist Winemaking team with executing all winemaking operations
• Tank and equipment sanitation
• Help in grape sampling, receiving, sorting, crushing and conveyance to tank
• Assist in the draining and pressing of lots adhering to all safety protocol
• Daily fermentation bin checks
• Barrel prep, sanitation, filling, and/or emptying

Vineyard:
• Assist in all areas of Vineyard work at both Kentucky Ranch and Kiler Canyon
• Harvest and prune the vines when directed
You will work as part of a 3 person team, involved in every aspect of processing nearly 100 tons of grapes. We work with 30+ different varieties, from the typical (Zinfandel, Grenache, Cabernet) to the outlandish (Valdiguie, Mission, Cabernet Pfeffer). Wine styles range from textured whites, to carbonic reds, to Rhone/Bordeaux blends. We also produce a Pet Nat yearly, and made our first Hard Cider from apples that we grow on the property. We own two vineyards (one in Adelaida and one in Willow Creek) where we organically grow 22 different varieties, as well as sourcing from independent growers in Paso Robles, Monterey and San Benito.
Ideal candidates will be able to handle long days of physical work in environments ranging from the chill of pre-dawn to the heat of midday. Winemaking education is not necessary. Ability to drive forklift and tractor is a plus. Ability to keep meticulous notes and records is a must.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and remarkable service at all times
• Commit to being a professional and excellent co-worker as the culture of the tasting room is very important
• Passion for wine, food, people, and the hospitality industry, this is the foundation for ensuring guests have a memorable experience
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of winery and its wines
• Ability to serve winery food offerings that will be an integral component of the guest experience. Serve charcuterie and other menu offerings as ordered by guests, following all appropriate food handling procedures
• Describe wines and winery history, answer visitor questions about wines
• Sell wine and wine club memberships based on monthly goals
• Handle routine sales transactions that include operating the POS. Wine Direct Knowledge is a plus.
• Assist with display and stocking of merchandise items and wines
• Ensure that merchandise displays and tasting bar are kept in immaculate condition
• Able to assist with bussing tables as needed to maintain a clean and professional environment
• Assist with special events as needed
• Represent winery at outside functions as needed
• Attend regularly scheduled monthly staff meetings and trainings
• Ensure all safety and health policies and practices are fully executed
• Additional duties as assigned by Tasting Room Manager
Qualifications
• Must be at least 21 years old
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow-up, and work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
• Must be available to work weekends and special events
• At least one-year experience in hospitality industry, preferably in a tasting room or as a restaurant server is highly desired but not required
• Customer service and or retail experience
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
• Experience with POS System a plus

Prior harvest experience is desired but not essential. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, detail driven individuals who possess an aptitude to work independently as well as part of a team. Candidates should have good communication skills, be reliable, punctual, prepared to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, day shift, night shift, and holidays.
All candidates will need to be fit and capable of working long hours, lift weights up to 50lbs, and endure extended periods of time walking, standing, and climbing ladders. The tasting room position is focused on wine sales with the additional responsibilities of greeting guests, scheduling appointments, the breakdown and set up of the private tastings, alongside assisting the guests with their transportation, wine packing, and booking needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Wine Sales, including wine clubs, event tickets on and offsite.
- Preparation, execution and break down of tastings, tours, events on and off winery premises.
- Scheduling events, appointments, tours and seminars for guests, media/trade and management.
- Strong communication on skills for tastings, tours, dinners and off-premise events
- Greeting and exiting guests as they arrive and depart.
- Booking appointments on and offsite
- Working with staff members on all levels, including winery and vineyard when help is needed.
- Participate in training through tastings, wine courses, travel, harvest, winery/vineyard work.
- Report directly to the tasting room and assistant tasting room manager.

Your main role will be assisting in harvest, however it may also include vineyard and hospitality help. Harvests are an incredible amount of work, but worth it in the long run!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Cleaning and sanitization of cellar and winemaking equipment.
• Fruit sorting and processing.
• Learning and aiding in wine fermentation.
• Cleaning, filling and topping barrels.
• Vineyard sampling.
Schedule/Expectations:
• Harvests can be long. There will be points during the course of your employment where you may be expected to work 6 days a week, and 10-12 hour days (overtime included). We will ensure one full day off, to rest and recover. And plenty of fun on the job!
• Please have reliable transportation.
• Attention to detail in very important.
• Being a self starter and taking initiation is key!
• Eagerness to learn.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for 10 or more hours a day.
