You know in Paso you can taste at a kind of place that has had its roots here for decades. By all accounts a Paso pioneer that helped put this area on the map. A place where the already great wine still gets better, and get a great experience. In the same way, you can find a brand that has maybe been around only a couple of years, but the hustle, the quality, the personality still fits the great tenants of what we love here about Paso Robles wine country. Today we feature both!
Justin Vineyards & Winery is a brand that has been around since the early 80’s. They have unquestionably elevated this area in national and global recognition as well. To get deep into this story, I wanted to go to the founder himself, Justin Baldwin. We will talk about not only Paso history, but how a brand like his was determined to lead not only for the sake of his brand, but for the sake of the area. Justin made Paso cool. Justin made blends cool, and we can’t talk to Justin without getting the low down on the birth of the beast: Justin Isosceles.

On the other side of that coin, I’m thrilled to bring you the story of a newer brand in town, TOP Winery. A brand rising so quickly, it’s hard for them to even keep up with enough wine for their growing fan base, Top Winery. Ran by what I’m calling Paso’s newest power couple, Elena Martinez (who runs the business), and her husband Stanley Barrios (who makes the wine), these guys truly put their money where their mouth, AND their heart is. Where has wine taken them? Well we know where it’s taken them from: their jobs and life in LA, which they picked up and made the lifestyle switch and never looked back.
