2025 Vineyard Tour – Explore the Historic Rodnick Vineyard with Winemaker Jordan Collins

Join us for a truly special experience as Lone Madrone winemaker Jordan Collins and family lead an intimate vineyard tour at Rodnick Farm in the Chalone AVA, hosted by Janet and Kurt Gollnick—the stewards of this remarkable property.

Rodnick Farm is a vineyard unlike any other, rich with history, stunning landscapes, and distinct varietals that thrive in its limestone soils. This tour offers a deeper, more immersive look into vineyard practices, terroir-driven winemaking, and the stories behind the vines—a completely new and different experience from any vineyard tour we’ve ever done.

Itinerary Highlights:

8:00 AM – Gather at Lone Madrone with coffee, croissants, and scones before we set off.

8:30 AM – Depart for Rodnick Farm (Chalone AVA).

10:15 AM—Meet Janet and Kurt Gollnick at their home overlooking the vineyard. We’ll enjoy a welcome wine tasting and learn about the region’s history.

11:00 AM – Vineyard tour with barrel samples and bottled wines, featuring Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Viognier, and Melon de Bourgogne. Jordan will share insights into our winemaking approach, while Kurt offers a deep dive into the vineyard blocks and farming methods.

12:30 PM – Enjoy a gourmet lunch prepared by Chef Benavidez, paired with stunning vineyard views and wines from Rodnick Vineyard and the surrounding vineyards from which we source. (Please go to the Lone Madrone’s event page to see the full lunch menu)

3:45 PM—Return to Lone Madrone for a relaxed cheese and wine gathering. The event will feature Rodnick Farm wines and our estate Zinfandel, and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase wines from the day.

This exclusive experience is limited to just 28 guests, offering an up-close look at a truly iconic vineyard.
