Wine Pairing: 2018 Ancient Peaks Renegade

This simple homemade family recipe is sure to be a crowd-pleaser! Grandma Betty’s famous sauce recipe was served for 30 years at the California Mid-State Fair. And we think we can all agree the best homemade burgers are served with a heavy pour of Renegade.

1/3 lb Santa Margarita Ranch ground Angus beef burger patty

Iceberg lettuce

Sweet Onions

Hamburger Buns

Large tomato

Mustard (just a tad)

First, sprinkle seasoning blend on top of burgers.

Preheat your grill or a skillet to medium heat, approximately 350 – 400 degrees. We love using a cast-iron skillet for getting that drool-worthy sear on the burgers.

Cook in skillet for 3-4 minutes per side, or until desired. While the burgers are cooking, make the special sauce. Combine the ketchup, mayo, relish, and just a tad of mustard in a blender. Blend until smooth.

Place your choice of cheese (we used cheddar) on top and cover with lid for the ultimate melt.

Lastly, melt butter and lightly toast the hamburger buns. Assemble your gotta-have-it-now burger, and pour a glass of wine!
