Qualifying Candidates:

Exceptional customer service, communication, organization, and sales skills
Able to open, close, and work independently in the tasting room, handling a wide range of tasks and duties in addition to hospitality responsibilities (not limited to: operating POS, stocking shelves, cleaning, organizing, phone calls)
Highly motivated, dependable and friendly. Ability to work within a very small team and be versatile and flexible. MUST be available for Friday/Saturday shifts AND other weekdays and evening shifts as needed.
Ability to learn and articulate winery history and Sea Shell Cellars wines to enhance guest experience.
Physical Requirements: The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and can stand for the majority of the shift
Starting Wage: $18.00 to $20.00 hourly - based on experience

Responsibilities

Assist with inventory management and sales transactions.
Collaborate with team members to enhance the guest experience and support special events.

Hospitality and reliability with confidence for handling multiple groups at a time is expected. As well as a basic understanding of POS Systems and maintaining a clean working environment for coworkers/shared space.

Basic duties include

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
These duties include but are not limited to:
• Greets all visitors guests and guides them through their Halter experience (Tours, Tastings, Lunch, By the Bottle, By the Glass, etc.)

• Describes wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history, answers visitors’ questions.
• The taking of guest orders
• Transferring of food from kitchen to table when necessary (as the flow of business dictates)

• The expectation that Wine Advisor be receptive to and to retain, for the purposes of communicating to guests, all restaurant related information including, but not limited to menu items, food descriptors, cooking methods, historical and regional points of culinary significance and standards of service.
• Clearing of food and food accessories, to include but not limited to: flatware, plates, stemware, menus, tasting books, linens
• Set up and breakdown of restaurant related service items
• Accurately handles routine purchasing transactions, which include operating cash register and accounting of daily sales.
• Provides general tourist information.
• Conducts guided tours as needed.
• Assists with the winery’s special events as needed.
• Acquires and maintains thorough knowledge of winery and its wines.
• Assists with display and pricing of retail items and wines as needed.
• Merchandise sales, size checks for guest requests, assist with restocking, maintain cleanliness and order in merchandise room

2024 Syrah - Willow Creek District - $30/ gallon - 84 gallons
15.2% ABV, 3.9 pH, 4.5 g/L TA

This Syrah is surplus after blending and a mixture of clones including 40% clone 470, with the remainder a blend of clones Estrella, Alban 1, and 877. It has been stored in one 320L barrel and FSO2 maintained around 30ppm. The wine is Medium + bodied and part of the blend saw some new oak before combining. It has plush tannins, excellent fruit mixed with savory, earthy tones and some sweet barrel spice and toast.

15.22% ABV, 3.36 pH, 6.3 TA

This Grenache is comprised of 100% clone 362 from the Willow Creek District of Paso Robles. The fruit comes from vines which naturally yield less than 3 tons/ acre and have distinctly small berries a great color. The wine has been stored in one neutral, 400L barrel. The wine has great color with a very aromatic, fresh and candied red fruit nose and vibrant acidity.
